Batteries for electric cars on lease - good idea ?

Most consumers do not like to take risks, especially on expensive UNTESTED purchases. Even so the product might not be too costly, the UNTESTED label tends to put people off. Fuel-cell cars, hybrid cars, and electric cars - who have thought of buying and owning one of these, if availabe in Singapore ?

Many forum feedbacks I've read has highlighted the congestion and crowds in Singapore in the years to come when the population goal is targeted at 6.5million. Sometimes, I do not understand why Singaporeans are buying bigger and bigger cars when the city is just of the right size to be the test-bed of these energy-friendly hybrid or electric cars.

Do you think Singaporeans are resistant to adopting new technologies ?

Norway's Think has a interesting business model here that encourages the adoption of clean-technology - Buy an electric car, lease the battery. This reduces the risk that consumers have to take about the car reliability. Well now, is it time we should go along this way ?

When the population hits 6.5million, you would not want Singapore to be like Hong Kong - economically, and financially competitive but just TOO POLLUTED!

aiyo, I can't imagine 6.5 million people in Singapore! The public transport is already so packed during peak hours. And queues at eateries, shopping malls etc are getting longer.

    I need space to breathe!
